Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is the national airline of Thailand. It operates domestic and international flights to four continents from its main hub at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is a member of Star Alliance and its head office is in Bangkok.

Bagages
Baggage checked in the hold
The baggage allowance allowed depends on the class of travel specified on your e-ticket.
On THAI flights departing from Paris, this allowance is:
– 20 kg in Economy class / Premium Economy*
– 30 kg in Royal Silk class
– 40 kg in Royal First class
Members of the Royal Orchid Plus loyalty programs or of a Star Alliance member airline benefit from an additional allowance:
– 20 kg for Gold members
– 10 kg for Silver members, on THAI flights exclusively
For babies under 2 and children under 12:
– Children paying 75% of the applicable adult fare benefit from the same allowance as adults.
– Parents traveling with a baby on their lap benefit from an additional baggage allowance of 10 kg. In addition to this allowance, they are authorized to carry a collapsible stroller, a bassinet, or an infant car seat.
Beyond the authorized weight, a supplement must be paid at the counter when you check in. The rate applied depends on your destination.
From Paris to Bangkok, the price for 1 kilogram of excess is 50 euros**.
* Premium Economy not available from Paris.

NB: Since September 24, 2014, passengers of the national airline of Thailand can travel more loaded: those who have chosen the class Economy can now check in 30 kilos of baggage in the hold, those who have opted for the class Business 40 kilos, and those who can afford the First 50 kg. Members of the Thai Airways frequent flyer program, Royal Orchid Plus, retain the possibility of registering additional weight at no extra charge depending on their level (20 kilos for Gold, 10 for Silver), but only on their own flights, just like members of equivalent programs with other airlines. Baggage size and weight regulations
– Regardless of the type of allowance (by weight or number), the total dimensions of your baggage (height + length + width) must not exceed 158 cm.
– Regardless of the booking class, the total weight of a single piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg.
For example: a Royal First class passenger authorized to carry 40 kg of baggage must distribute this weight over at least two pieces of baggage at his convenience ex. 1 bag of 32 kg + 1 bag of 8 kg.
– In the event that your luggage exceeds the authorized dimensions or weight, inform us in advance.
Surcharge for excess baggage
If your baggage exceeds the authorized allowance by weight and/or number, you will have to pay a supplement for excess baggage when you check in.
The amount of the supplement to be paid depends on your destination.
From Paris to Bangkok, the price for 1 kg of excess is around 50 euros (price from, communicated for information only, may vary according to the $/€ exchange rates).

Windsurfing / Surfing | Weight not included in the authorized baggage allowance. Must be reserved in advance via our reservation service. Cabin luggage (or hand luggage)
– Regardless of the class in which you are traveling, you are authorized to carry one item of hand luggage, the dimensions of which must not exceed 56 cm in length, 45 cm in depth, 25 cm in width, wheels and handles included.
– You can also take with you an accessory such as a handbag, laptop, camera.
– The total weight of your cabin baggage must not exceed 7 kg, including your handbag and/or computer.
Important information:
– Keep your precious and fragile items and important documents with you in the cabin.
– Do not place any object considered dangerous in this baggage because it will be removed from you during the security check.
– For aviation security reasons, the transport of liquids in the cabin is strictly regulated.
Children
Traveling with a baby
You can travel with your newborn baby aged 7 days minimum.
Up to the age of 2, infants not occupying a seat can benefit from up to 80% reduction.
Cribs are available on THAI flights over 2 hours. For safety reasons, they are reserved for infants 6 months or younger. With a dimension of 75 x 35 x 22 cm, they can accommodate babies weighing less than 10 kg and measuring no more than 67 cm.
Any request for a “baby cradle” must be made at the time of booking, at the latest 48 hours before flight departure.
You can bring your car seat under certain conditions. In this case, you will have to pay the child rate. For more information, contact our services.
Traveling with a child
A child, up to and including 11 years old, must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
When accompanied by an adult, children benefit from reductions of up to 25% off the applicable rate.
We offer meals adapted to the tastes and needs of children.
Remember to order the children’s menu when booking or when buying the ticket, at the latest 48 hours before departure.
On board, your child receives gifts for a pleasant and fun trip: pencils, colouring, various games… On our long-haul flights, they also enjoy audio music channels. Children’s items are also on sale in the on-board shop.
Unaccompanied children
Up to 11 years old inclusive, a child must be accompanied by an adult.
If your child has to travel alone, THAI provides you with an escort service that will accompany them from the beginning to the end of their trip.

This service is reserved for children from 5 to 11 years old. Older children, aged 12 to 16, can also obtain this service on request.
Fees and support costs
To benefit from this service, children must pay the adult price.
Companion fees are USD 60* per international journey.
On domestic flights within Thailand, this service is offered free of charge.
Registration
We recommend that travelers arrive at the check-in counter at least 2 hours before take-off time. This is to allow you sufficient time to access check-in and security screening, and to avoid flight delays.
Travel Assistance
Pregnant women
If you are expecting a child, remember to let us know at the time of booking, at the latest 48 hours before flight departure.
Single pregnancy
From your 28th week of pregnancy, your attending obstetrician must issue you a medical certificate of fitness to travel, indicating the number of weeks of pregnancy and your expected date of delivery. This certificate must be issued to you no later than 7 days before your departure.
For trips longer than 4 flight hours, you can travel up to your 34th week provided that the term is scheduled within the following 6 weeks.
For journeys of less than 4 flight hours, you can travel until the end of your 36th week, provided the term is within 4 weeks.
Difficult and/or multiple pregnancy
Your obstetrician must provide you with medical clearance to travel. He must complete a Medical Authorization Form (MEDA), to be given to us no later than 48 hours before the departure of the flight.

NB: For security reasons, THAI reserves the right to refuse boarding to passengers who do not have a medical certificate.
Persons with reduced mobility
Passengers with reduced mobility who need special assistance for their trip must contact our reservations department no later than 48 hours before flight departure so that all arrangements are implemented to ensure their trip in the best conditions. of comfort.
Special Meals
To meet medical, dietary, or religious convenience, THAI offers a wide selection of specialty meals. To place an order, contact your travel agency no later than 48 hours before flight departure.
Allergies
Passengers with a nut allergy wishing to order a special meal must inform their travel agent at least 48 hours before the departure of their flight.
Due to the large number of passengers traveling on its flights, THAI cannot guarantee that its lounges and cabins will be 100% preserved. However, if you inform us in advance, we will endeavor to ensure that each point of contact is aware of the particular requirements required.
Loyalty program
Royal Orchid Plus is THAI’s loyalty program.
This free program is based on the principle of accumulating miles, and is open to anyone over the age of 2.
Statuses and benefits
The royal orchid plus program has specific benefits for each membership level.
The three levels of the program are: Basic (entry status), Silver, Gold
