SITUATION GEOGRAPHIQUE
Tahiti is both the largest and the most populated of the islands of French Polynesia. The city of Papeete, located on the northwest coast of the island, is the capital of French Polynesia and is home to all of its political institutions. Tourism contributes strongly to the economy of the island, especially since Tahiti is home to the only international airport in French Polynesia, giving it the status of gateway to the territory.
